I Am

You are the ocean, I am a wave

You are the big field, I am a blade of grass

You are the big tree I am a branch

You are the autumn, I am a leaf spinning around

I am the Universe thinking itself

I am the Universe drinking itself

I am the God who is dreaming itself

I Am

I Am

I Am

Centering prayer:

All is one. Therefore, I am one with ALL.

About:

In the story of the burning bush, Moses asks the divine to name itself.

The famous response is a simple name: “I AM”.

This phrase brings the identify of the divine to the present tense, and a verb (“I am what I have always been, I am now, I will be what I will be…)

This is echoed in the idea that Jesus mentioned in John 17:

I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you.

And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me.

May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

I wrote this song imagining the unity of the divine and the self, that we are a small part of a larger whole, or, collectively: “WE ARE”.
