About:
“Winter Is Not the End” is an original song that landed in my head like a dream this past Easter (“Resurrection Sunday”) embracing the journey from loss to life that nature's upward spiral teaches us each spring.
As Danusia and I remember the loss of our angel (April 1, 2022) who paved the way, Julian, our rainbow after the storm, embodies the essence of spring—new beginnings and the fulfillment of love's resilience.
May this melody offer solace and remind us that even in our deepest grief, the promise of resurrection is evident even in nature, and while in the longest/coldest winter we can hold on to the unstoppable truth that “spring is right around the corner” (my Grandma Nancy's mantra).
Fun songwriting note: like the 4 seasons, there are 4 key changes in this song. Each section of the song “springs” up to a higher pitch and spans across 5 different keys as the song progresses, to return to its original key for the final verse
