This song is a reminder that these traits/attributes are not accidental, or even fruit, they are “put on” (like clothing) each day. As “holy” people (people that understand that they are LOVED by the divine) it is our responsibility to put these behaviors on our actions/interactions intentionally every day.
Colossians 3:12 says, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience".
